Probable cause affidavit: |
SUBMITTED BY: WILSON, JAMES 0707 (AR15-14010) \tDID, KNOWING HER DRIVER'S LICENSE OR DRIVING PRIVILEGE HAD BEEN CANCELLED, SUSPENDED OR REVOKED AS A HABITUAL TRAFFIC OFFENDER, DRIVE A MOTOR VEHICLE UPON THE HIGHWAYS OF THIS STATE WHILE SUCH LICENSE OR PRIVILEGE WAS CANCELLED, IN VIOLATION OF FLORIDA STATUTE, 322.34(5). ON 022515, WHILE ON PATROL, I PULLED IN TO THE FRONT ENTRANCE OF THE KANGAROO GAS STATION AT NORTH CARL G ROSE HIGHWAY/EAST WITHLACOOCHEE TRAIL. AS I ENTERED THE PARKING LOT, I OBSERVED A GOLD COLORED FOUR DOOR TOYOTA VEHICLE BEARING FLORIDA TAG, 585PGK. UPON RESEARCHING THE TAG IN THE FCIC/ NCIC SYSTEM, I DISCOVERED ONE OF THE OWNERS, LATER IDENTIFIED AS THE DEFENDANT, PARIS BRYSON, HAD A SUSPENDED DRIVERâS LICENSE. I THEN EXITED THE GAS STATION THROUGH THE SIDE ENTRANCE LEADING TO EAST WITHLACOOCHEE TRAIL, AND PARKED MY PATROL VEHICLE ON THE EAST SIDE OF THE ROAD WITH A VIEW OF THE FRONT DOOR OF THE KANGAROO GAS STATION AND THE DEFENDANTâS VEHICLE. I THEN OBSERVED A WHITE FEMALE WITH BLONDE HAIR AND THE APPROXIMATE HEIGHT AND AGE MATCHING THE INFORMATION I LOCATED IN THE FCIC/NCIC SYSTEM EXIT THE STORE, ENTER THE DRIVERâS SIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND BEGIN TO EXIT THE PARKING LOT. I THEN DROVE SOUTH ON NORTH CARL G ROSE HIGHWAY AND PARKED AT THE INTERSECTION OF NORTH CARL G ROSE HIGHWAY AND EAST STOKES FERRY ROAD. THE DEFENDANTâS VEHICLE TRAVELED SOUTH AND PASSED ME, SO I WAS ABLE TO CONFIRM THE DESCRIPTION OF THE DEFENDANT AND THAT SHE WAS, IN FACT, DRIVING THE VEHICLE. AS I FOLLOWED SAID VEHICLE, I LOCATED THE DEFENDANTâS INFORMATION LISTED IN THE ââAEGIS PROGRAMââ WHICH DESCRIBED HER AS HAVING BLONDE HAIR. THE DRIVER OF SAID VEHICLE ALSO HAD BLONDE HAIR. I CONDUCTED A TRAFFIC STOP ON SAID VEHICLE AT NORTH CARL G ROSE HIGHWAY/BIRCH TREE. I APPROACHED THE DRIVERâS SIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND ASKED THE DEFENDANT FOR HER DRIVERâS LICENSE AND REGISTRATION. THE DEFENDANT THEN PROVIDED ME WITH A FLORIDA IDENTIFICATION CARD CONFIRMING HER TO BE THE REGISTERED OWNER OF THE VEHICLE, ALONG WITH THE VEHICLE REGISTRATION INFORMATION. I ADVISED THE DEFENDANT THAT HER DRIVERâS LICENSE WAS SUSPENDED AND ASKED HER IF SHE WAS AWARE OF THAT. THE DEFENDANT STATED THAT LAST YEAR SHE WAS ARRESTED FOR DRIVING WHILE LICENSE WAS SUSPENDED AND THE CHARGES WERE DROPPED. SHE STATED SHE WAS THEN INFORMED THAT SHE COULD HAVE HER DRIVERâS LICENSE REINSTATED. I ASKED THE DEFENDANT IF SHE HAD GONE TO THE DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLES TO GET HER LICENSE REINSTATED, TO WHICH SHE RESPONDED, NO. I RETURNED TO MY PATROL VEHICLE AND CONFIRMED VIA TELETYPE OPERATOR 1228 THAT THE DEFENDANTâS DRIVERâS LICENSE WAS, IN FACT, SUSPENDED, AND ALSO SHOWED THE DEFENDANT TO BE A HABITUAL TRAFFIC OFFENDER FOR 60 MONTHS, ISSUED 070114. I AGAIN RESPONDED TO THE DEFENDANTâS VEHICLE AND ASKED HER TO EXIT THE VEHICLE WHERE SHE COMPLIED. THE DEFENDANT WAS ADVISED THAT SHE WAS BEING PLACED UNDER ARREST AS A HABITUAL TRAFFIC OFFENDER DRIVING ON A SUSPENDED DRIVERâS LICENSE. THE DEFENDANT WAS HANDCUFFED (DOUBLE LOCKED) BEHIND HER BACK AND SEATED IN THE REAR OF MY PATROL VEHICLE FOR TRANSPORT TO THE CITRUS COUNTY DETENTION FACILITY. UPON ARRIVAL, THE DEFENDANT WAS TURNED OVER TO DETENTION STAFF WHERE HER BOND WAS SET AT $2,000.00 PER THE ABOVE LISTED CHARGE. |
