| Comments: | Sex offenders have always lived in our communities; but it was not until passage of the community protection act of 1990 (which mandates sex offender registration) that law enforcement even knew where they were living. In many cases, law enforcement is not able to share that information with you. Citizen abuse of this information to threaten, intimidate or harass registered sex offenders will not be tolerated. Further, such abuse could potentially end law enforcement's ability to do community notifications. We believe the only person who wins if community notification ends is the sex offender, since sex offenders drive their power through secrecy. According to official documents, Gorden pled guilty in Skagit County Superior Court to the Crimes of Rape of a Child 3rd, Communication with a Minor for Immoral Purposes and 3 counts of Furnish Liquor to a Minor. He was given a term of 60 months in prison on 1-14-2010. Gorden , age 30 would host parties at his house for under aged juveniles. For females, ages 13-17 years old to gain entrance into the parties or remain at the party, they would have to flash their bare breast to Gorden. He would then take a picture and post them in his bedroom. Several females reported that Gorden would make out with them. Four victims woke up in the same bed a Gorden, nude. Gorden was originally charged with four counts of Rape of a Child but that was amended to one count of Rape of a Child and One Count of Communication with Minor. The victims were intoxicated and awoke to Gorden having sex with them. In 2003 Gorden, age 24 engaged in sexual intercourse with a 14 year old on at least six different occasions. This victim became pregnant and the victim's sister reported the crime to the police. He was given a term of 28 months from Whatcom County Superior Court for this crime. In 2001 Gorden engaged in sexual intercourse with a 14 year old female 5 to 6 times over a course of six weeks. The victim's mother learned what had taken place and the police were contacted. The suspect was told to refrain from having sexual contct with this victim. In spite of this warning, Gorden and the victim continued to have sexual contact.San Juan County Superior Court on 10-1-2001 gave Gorden a sentence of 20 months in prison. Gorden was found non amenable for sex offender treatment as he declined to enter the program. He also declined to enter treatment during his 2001 conviction. " Probation Conditions Shall have no contact with minors. Shall not purchase, own, have in his possession or under his control any firearm. Shall not use, possess or consume any controlled substances without a lawfully issued prescription. |
