| Probable cause affidavit: | SUBMITTED BY: MANN, BRIAN FHP1580 (AR12124242) did, knowing HIS driver's license or driving privilege had been cancelled, suspended or revoked AS A HABITUAL TRAFFIC OFFENDER, drive a motor vehicle upon the highways of this state while such license or privilege was cancelled, in violation of Florida Statute 322.34(5); ON 010412, I WAS IN THE GRASS MEDIAN OF WEST GULF TO LAKE HIGHWAY AT THE INTERSECTION OF NORTH LECANTO HIGHWAY, IN LECANTO LOCATED IN CITRUS COUNTY MONITORING TRAFFIC. I OBSERVED THE DEFENDANT'S VEHICLE APPROACHING MY LOCATION. AS THE VEHICLE DROVE BY, THE DEFENDANT APPEARED NOT TO HAVE BEEN WEARING HIS SEAT BELT. I INITIATED A TRAFFIC STOP AND MADE CONTACT with THE DRIVER/DEFENDANT, WHO WAS IDENTIFIED THROUGH HIS FLORIDA DRIVER'S LICENSE OF P552696630810 AS MR PAUL RICHARD PENNINGER. THE DEFENDANT WAS PLACED UNDER ARREST FOR DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED HABITUAL OFFENDER, HANDCUFFED (DOUBLE LOCKED) AND SECURED IN THE REAR SEAT OF MY PATROL VEHICLE. PRIOR TO LEAVING THE SCENE THE DEFENDANT 'S VEHICLE WAS TOWED BY GREG'S TOWING. THE DEFENDANT WAS THEN TRANSPORTED TO THE CITRUS COUNTY DETENTION FACILITY (CCDF) FOR BOOKING AND PROCESSING. THE DEFENDANT WAS CHARGED WITH DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED HABITUAL TRAFFIC OFFENDER AND ISSUED CRIMINAL UNIFORM TRAFFIC CITATION (UTC) NUMBER 5284-WHZ-8 WITH A COURT DATE TO BE SET. THE DEFENDANT 'S BOND WAS SET AT $2,000.00 PER THE BOND SCHEDULE.
