| Probable cause affidavit: | SUBMITTED BY: FERGUSON, ADAM 0505 (AR11120887) did, knowing HIS driver's license or driving privilege had been cancelled, suspended or revoked AS A HABITUAL TRAFFIC OFFENDER, drive a motor vehicle upon the highways of this state while such license or privilege was cancelled, in violation of Florida Statute 322.34(5). ON 052211, WHILE ON ROUTINE TRAFFIC PATROL IN THE AREA OF NE 9TH AVENUE AND HIGHWAY 44 IN CRYSTAL RIVER, I OBSERVED THE DEFENDANT'S VEHICLE TURNING ONTO HIGHWAY 44 TRAVELING EASTBOUND. I OBSERVED THAT HE DID NOT HAVE HIS SEAT BELT ON AND INITIATED A TRAFFIC STOP. UPON MAKING CONTACT WITH THE DEFENDANT, PETER JOHNSON, HE ADVISED HE DID NOT HAVE A VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE. IN RUNNING THE DEFENDANT'S informatioN THROUGH FCIC/NCIC, IT REVEALED THAT HIS LICENSE WAS SUSPENDED AND HE WAS A HABITUAL TRAFFIC OFFENDER. AT THAT TIME, THE DEFENDANT WAS PLACED UNDER ARREST, WHERE HE WAS HANDCUFFED (DOUBLE LOCKED) BEHIND HIS BACK AND SECURED IN THE REAR OF MY PATROL VEHICLE. I TRANSPORTED THE DEFENDANT TO THE CITRUS COUNTY DETENTION FACILITY WHERE HE WAS CHARGED WITH ONE COUNT OF DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED (HABITUAL TRAFFIC OFFENDER) AND HIS BOND WAS SET AT $2,000.00 PER THE BOND SCHEDULE.
