Probable cause affidavit: SUBMITTED BY: CASADA, STEVEN 0460 (AR12-3349) (CASE: 142846) KNOWINGLY GAVE FALSE VERIFICATION OF OWNERSHIP of two digital cameras, AND THE DEFENDANT GAVE A FALSE OR ALTERED IDENTIFICATION AND WHO RECEIVED MONEY IN THE AMOUNT OF $85.00 FROM THE Family Jewelry and Pawn PAWNBROKER FOR a Flip mini hd video camera and a kodak waterproof digital camera: FSS 539.001(8)(B)(8). ON 081012 A petit THEFT WAS REPORTED TO THE CITRUS COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE IN REFERENCE TO electronic items, two digital cameras, WHICH HAD BEEN TAKEN FROM THE RESIDENCE. DURING THE INVESTIGATION IT WAS LEARNED THAT THE DEFENDANT, ms randee roemer, HAD PAWNED the two digital cameras at the family jewelry and pawn shop IN INVERNESS, FLORIDA. this detective made arrangements with the victim to meet at the family jewelry and pawn shop on the afternoon of 103112. the victim had previously contacted family JEWELRY and pawn in reference to the two items, and learned the kodak digital camera had already been sold. on 103112 This detective reviewed pawn transaction form #2113 and learned the defendant pawned the kodak digital camera on 050712, provided all of her contact and personal information, as well as her right thumb print. the defendant received $45.00 for the kodak camera. the victim advised the kodak camera listed was the other camera stolen from her RESIDENCE. The victim also learned the defendant pawned the flip mini hd camera on 060512. the flip mini hd camera was already on police hold. ON 103112 THE VICTIM IN THIS CASE POSITIVELY IDENTIFIED the Flip mini hd digital video camera AT family jewelry and pawn shop. the defendant received at total of $40.00 for the flip mini hd camera. the defendant listed all of her contact and personal information, as well as her right thumb print on pawn transaction form # 2741. the victim filled out and signed an affidavit of property owner, acknowledging she inspected and positively identified the flip mini hd camera as belonging to her. the pawn employee filled out and signed an affidavit of pawn/second-hand dealer form, acknowledging the defendant pawned the KODAK digital camera and the flip mini hd camera at the family jewelry and pawn. all forms were turned in to the citrus county sheriff’s office records division. the pawn employee also provided this detective with original pawn transaction forms 2741 and 2113, at which time this detective took possession of the forms and provided the employee with a property receipt. the forms were later turned into the citrus county sheriff’s office evidence division. on 103112, I PROCEEDED TO 1152 sOUTH highlands aveNUE IN INVERNESS, WHERE I MADE CONTACT WITH THE DEFENDANT. i explained to the defendant why i was there and asked if she wished to speak with me about her pawn transactions. THE DEFENDANT THEN ADVISED THAT THE CO-DEFENDANT IN THIS CASE ASKED her to pawn the two cameras for him. the defendant explained that the co-defendant told her he had gotten the cameras from his brother. the defendant advised she had no knowledge the cameras were stolen. THE DEFENDANT AND THE CO-DEFENDANT proceeded to the family jewelry and pawn on 050712 and 060512, where the defendant advised she pawned the cameras and filled out all of the appropriate PAPERWORK advising the cameras belonged to her. the defendant was advised she was being placed under arrest for two counts of false information to a pawn broker. the defendant was handcuffed, (double locked) behind her back and placed in this detective’s patrol car. the defendant was read her miranda warnings from a pre-printed agency card, acknowledged she understood her rights and agreed to speak with me further about the incident. the defendant advised that she had no knowledge the items were stolen when she pawned them. she acknowledged she read the pawn transaction form, provided her contact and personal information, as well as he right thumb print. the defendant advised that since she did not know the items were stolen, and thought they belonged to the co-defendant, she thought she would not get in trouble for pawning them. the defendant advised she has pawned other items for the co-defendant in the past. she claimed she now realizes that the other items she has pawned for the co-defendant were probably also stolen. the defendant was transported to the citrus county detention facility for booking and processing. THE DEFENDANT'S BOND WAS SET AT $4,000.00 PER THE BOND SCHEDULE.
