| Comments: | According to official documents, Gannon pled guilty to the crime of Attempted Indecent Liberties on June 5, 2001 and was given a term of 51 months in prison with credit for time served while awaiting his sentencing. On November 10, 2000, Gannon, who was a developmentally disabled resident at a group home sexually assaulted a 24 year-old female staff worker. Gannon initially grabbed the victim's buttocks with his hands. Gannon then grabbed the victim by her wrists and pushed her to the floor where he attempted to kiss the victim. The victim was able to get away from Gannon and call 911. Gannon admitted that he had planned the assault and apparently circled the date and had written rape on his personal calendar. Gannon has no other sex crime convictions, but according to file material Gannon history is replete with episodes of sexually deviant behavior. This includes exposures, peeping and masturbating. Gannon also has made obscene telephone calls in the past. The age of his self disclosed victims have been from age 4 to 17. Most of these individuals that he has reported have been groped or fondled by Gannon. Assault 2nd Degree, Gannon attempted treatment for 6 months while in prison but was terminated due to on going fantasies towards a staff member and not taking his medication. Gannon had 18 infractions while in prison which sexual and non-sexual in nature. Gannon is no longer under supervision of the Department of Corrections. Since his release from prison Gannon has been living in a adult group home with direct line of sight at all times and is in treatment. |
