| Comments: | According to official documents, Raethke pled guilty to 4 counts of Rape in the 1st Degree and one Count of Attempted Rape in the 1st Degree on 6-7-1985 and given a term of life in prison. The parole board released him on 10-8-2012 to the Community. In Count 1, he sexually assaulted a 14 year old female who was walking in the woods near the Recreation Pavilion in Mount Lake Terrace. This victim was pulled into a secluded area of the wood, gag and blindfolded and then attacked. Count #2, sexually assaulted another 14 year old female in the same area. In count#3 which was also in the same area, sexually assaulted this 14 year old female. In Count #4 he again sexually assaulted a 14 year old female who was walking in the woods near her home in Lynnwood. In Counts #5 & 6 he attempted to sexually assault a 15 year old female who was walking in the woods near her home which was near the Recreation Pavilion in Mount Lake Terrace. Raethke stopped the victim and asked where Alderwood Mall was and then suddenly grabbed this victim. He covered her mouth while telling her not to scream because he had a knife. The victim also was carrying a knife and as he was taking her into the woods, she began stab him in the leg and arm. He then forced this victim onto the ground and tried to place masking tape on her eyes and mouth. The victim each time removed the tape and convinced him to seek counseling and he agreed to let her go. All victims were able to identify him from an in-person line up. He was sentenced to a maximum term of Life. He will be supervised for Life by the Department of Corrections: 360-658-2150 " Probation Conditions Shall not leave the state of Washington without written permission from his supervising Corrections Officer. Shall obtain permission before traveling outside County. Shall enter Phase III of Sex Offender treatment and successfully participate. Shall not engage in a romantic relationship without first disclosing his status as a sex offendeer and the nature of his crime. Shall have no contact with minors. Electronic monitornic monitoring ordered. Shall not possess or access sexually explicit materials that are intended for sexual gratification. Shall not possess or peruse pornograpjhic materials. Shall not purchase, own, have in his possession or under his control any firearm or deadly weapon. This also includes shipping of a firearm, ammunition or explosives. Shall not access the internet or e-mail by electronic devices without the permission of his Community Corrections Officer and his Treatment provider. |
