| Comments: | According to Official documents on May 12, 1989, Reid pled guilty to the following crimes: Rape in the 1st degree, Attempted Murder in the 2nd degree and Escape in the 2 degree. He was given a term of 204 months in prison with credit for time that he served awaiting trial. The victim in this case was an unknown 15 year old female who was walking home from a school dance. The victim was approached from behind by Reid and physically picked up by Reid and forced to have sex with Reid. Reid also told the victim that if she resisted that he would use the knife that he had. After the victim was sexually assaulted twice by Reid, Reid took the victim's shirt to strangle her. The victim was left unconscious. When the victim eventually came to she found a large boulder on top of her head. The victim was able to ID the suspect in this crime and he was arrested in September of 1988. Reid escaped from custody and was located in late October of 1988. The Juvenile authorities declined jurisdiction in this case and Reid was charged as an adult. Reid, while in prison, did participate in the sex offender treatment program, anger/stress management , and drug treatment. Reid is no longer on active supervision and his only requirement is to register as a sex offender. |
