| Comments: | According to official documents, on July 14, 1997, Wood abducted, physically assaulted, and sexually assaulted his 19 year old girlfriend and kept her captive overnight. Wood and the victim were at a party and Wood began to get angry with the victim. The victim left the party and Wood offered to give her a ride home. Instead of driving to the victim's home, Wood, drove her to a secluded cabin in unincorporated Snohomish County. The victim attempted several times to escape the vehicle, but was choked by Wood each time that she attempted to escape. Once at this cabin, Wood slapped the victim several times in her face and hit her with a belt. The victim attempted to escape from the area but was located by Wood and returned to the cabin. The victim was then hit over her head with a beer bottle and spit on. Wood forced the victim to take a shower and forced her to perform oral sex on Wood. The victim was able to flee the cabin after Wood fell asleep and called her family for help. Wood was found guilty in court on May 21, 1998, of Assault 2nd degree with Sexual Motivation and Kidnapping 2nd degree with Sexual Motivation. He was given a term of 28 months in prison with credit for time served. Wood is not on active supervision and his only requirement is to register as a sex offender. |
