Probable cause affidavit: |
SUBMITTED BY: NORTON, NICK 0758 (AR1130) THE DEFENDANT, MS SELINA SUZETTE FORD, DID UNLAWFULLY HAVE IN HER ACTUAL OR CONSTRUCTIVE POSSESSION A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, TO WIT: TWO 10 MILLIGRAM METHADONE TABLETS, IN VIOLATION OF FLORIDA STATE STATUTE 893.13(6)(A). ON 051212 AT APPROXIMATELY 2004 HOURS, I RESPONDED AS BACKUP FOR DEPUTY HRYC ON A TRAFFIC STOP AT TUFFYâS GYM IN CRYSTAL RIVER, LOCATED AT 1345 SOUTHEAST US HIGHWAY 19. UPON MY ARRIVAL I made CONTACT WITH DEPUTY HRYC AND THE DEFENDANT, WHO WERE BOTH SPEAKING OUTSIDE OF HER VEHICLE, A RED FOUR DOOR, BEARING DEALER PLATE NA698K. DEPUTY HRYC ADVISED MYSELF THAT HE HAD STOPPED THE DEFENDANT FOR A SEAT BELT VIOLATION, AND THAT HE HAD PERFORMED A EXTERIOR SNIFF ON THE VEHICLE WITH HIS K9 PARTNER ZEUS. HE FURTHER ADVISED THAT HIS K9 HAD ZEUS HAD ALERTED FOR POSSIBLE NARCOTICS IN THE VEHICLE. DEPUTY HRYC ADVISED THAT UPON A SEARCH OF the VEHICLE, HE DID DISCOVER FOUR HALF TABLETS OF METHADONE, IN THE DEFENDANTâS PURSE. DEPUTY HRYC ADVISED THAT THE DEFENDANT HAD BEEN READ HER MIRANDA RIGHTS AT APPROXIMATELY 2015 HOURS, AT WHICH TIME SHE STATED THAT SHE HAD NO PROBLEM SPEAKING with MYSELF AND DEPUTY HRYC. THE DEFENDANT ADVISED THAT SHE DID NOT HAVE A PRESCRIPTION FOR THE PILLS, AND THAT SHE HAD BEEN GETTING THEM FROM A FRIEND AND GIVING THEM TO HER HUSBAND FOR HIS PAIN. THE PILLS WERE WHITE IN COLOR, ROUND AND BROKEN INTO HALVES. THE NUMBERS 54 AND 142 WERE FOUND OF separate HALVES OF THE TABLETS. THE TABLETS WERE CONFIRMED BY POISON CONTROL OVER THE TELEPHONE AS METHADONE 10 MILLIGRAM TABLETS, A SCHEDULE II NARCOTIC. THE PILLS WERE COLLECTED AN LATER TURNED INTO EVIDENCE. I THEN ADVISED THE DEFENDANT THAT SHE WAS BEING PLACED UNDER ARREST FOR POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE. THE DEFENDANT WAS HANDCUFFED, DOUBLE LOCKED, AND PATTED DOWN FOR WEAPONS AND CONTRABAND, WHICH WAS MET WITH NEGATIVE RESULTS. THE DEFENDANT WAS THEN PLACED in the REAR OF MY PATROL VEHICLE AND TRANSPORTED TO THE CITRUS COUNTY DETENTION FACILITY. ON THE WAY TO THE CITRUS COUNTY DETENTION FACILITY, THE DEFENDANT ADVISED THAT SHE KNEW THAT HAVING THE TABLETS WITHOUT A PRESCRIPTION WAS ILLEGAL, AS SHE HAD USED TO BE A NURSE. SHE ADVISED THAT AS HER INSURANCE WOULD NOT COVER THEM, AND THAT IT WAS EASIER TO BUY THEM FROM HER FRIEND, THAN TO GO TO, âA PILL MILL.â UPON ARRIVAL AT THE CITRUS COUNTY DETENTION FACILITY, THE DEFENDANT WAS TURNED OVER TO DETENTION FACILITY STAFF FOR BOOKING AND PROCESSING. BOND WAS SET AT $2,000.00, PER THE SCHEDULE. |
