Probable cause affidavit: SUBMITTED BY: BARR, JOSHUA 1338 (AR16-19540) DID UNLAWFULLY AND KNOWINGLY OBTAIN, USE OR ENDEAVOR TO OBTAIN OR USE THE PROPERTY OF WAL-MART, TO-WIT: THE DEFENDANT CARRIED ALL ITEMS IN HIS SHOPPING CART PASSED ALL POINTS OF SALE AND TO THE EXIT OF THE RETAIL STORE, WITHOUT ATTEMPTING TO PAY, SAID ITEMS BEING OF THE VALUE OF THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($300.00) OR MORE, BUT LESS THAN FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($5,000.00), WITH THE INTENT TO EITHER TEMPORARILY OR PERMANENTLY DEPRIVE THE VICTIM OF A RIGHT TO THE PROPERTY OR A BENEFIT THEREOF, OR DID APPROPRIATE THE SAID PROPERTY TO HER OWN USE OR THE USE OF ANY PERSON NOT ENTITLED THERETO, IN VIOLATION OF FLORIDA STATUTES 812.014(2)(C)(1). ON 052016, I RESPONDED TO WAL-MART LOCATED AT 6885 SOUTH SUNCOAST BOULEVARD, IN HOMOSASSA, IN REFERENCE TO A THEFT IN PROGRESS. UPON MY ARRIVAL I MADE CONTACT WITH THE DEFENDANT, MR SHANE CREAMER, AS WELL AS LOSS PREVENTION STAFF TO INCLUDE WITNESS, MS DONNA SMITH, AT THE ENTRANCE OF WAL-MART. MS SMITH ADVISED ME THAT SHE AND OTHER LOSS PREVENTION STAFF OBSERVED THE DEFENDANT DRIVING AN ELECTRIC SHOPPING CART FILLED WITH 19 ITEMS, WHICH HAD NOT BEEN PURCHASED WITH A TOTAL VALUE OF $457.84. MS SMITH ADVISED THE DEFENDANT DROVE THE SHOPPING CART PASSED ALL POINTS OF SALE, EXITING THE ESTABLISHMENT, WITHOUT ATTEMPTING TO PAY. THROUGH WAL-MART'S SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM I WAS ABLE TO OBSERVE THE THEFT, WHICH WAS CAPTURED ON CAMERA. IN THE SURVEILLANCE FOOTAGE, I OBSERVED THE DEFENDANT DRIVING AN ELECTRIC SHOPPING CART WITH MULTIPLE ITEMS, WHICH WERE NOT IN WAL-MART SHOPPING BAGS. THE DEFENDANT DROVE PASSED ALL POINTS OF SALE, TOWARDS THE WAL-MART EXIT, WITHOUT ATTEMPTING TO PAY FOR THE ITEMS. THE DEFENDANT WAS THEN INTERVIEWED, POST MIRANDA, AT WHICH TIME HE CONFESSED TO ATTEMPTING TO STEAL THE ITEMS IN HIS SHOPPING CART. THE DEFENDANT STATED HE HAD NO INTENTIONS OF PAYING FOR THE ITEMS. I THEN INFORMED THE DEFENDANT THAT HE WAS BEING PLACED UNDER ARREST FOR GRAND THEFT. THE DEFENDANT WAS SECURED IN THE REAR OF MY PATROL VEHICLE AND TRANSPORTED TO THE CITRUS COUNTY DETENTION FACILITY FOR BOOKING AND PROCESSING. THE DEFENDANT 'S BOND WAS SET AT $2,000.00 PER THE BOND SCHEDULE.
