| Comments: | THIS OFFENDER IS NOT A SEX OFFENDER, BUT IS REQUIRED TO REGISTER. According to official documents, Matthews was convicted of the crime of Kidnapping and given a term of 150 months in prison and 5 years of supervision. Matthews who had been residing in West Virginia traveled to Chicago to meet her boyfriend. Matthews had told her boyfriend that she had delivered his child while he was in prison and sent him pictures intended to ensure the relationship. Matthews on 12-24-2001 arrived at the Greyhound Bus Station in Chicago and Matthews saw a 16 month old child and another child with their mother. Matthews offered to help this mother and asked her where she was traveling. The victim's mother stated Milwaukee and Matthews states she also was going to the same city once she "picked up her child from the bus. As a means of having the victim's mother save money she told her to cash in her tickets and she would drive them. Matthews started to walk away with the victim and the Victim's mother told her to stop, Matthews ran away with the child. Matthews, her boyfriend left Chicago and drove with the victim for 12 hours to West Virginia. On 12-27-2001 police located Matthews and the victim and she was arrested. Matthews also had been convicted of Unlawful Imprisonment in 1987 for intentionally abducting a 2 1/2 child in King County, Washington. Matthews is on active supervision with U.S. Probation and Parole, Everett Office: 425-249-7000 " Probation Conditions Shall not reside in direct view of places used primarily by minors, such as school yards, parks, public swining pools, or recreational centers, playgrounds, youth centers, video arcade facilities, or other places primarily used by children under 18 years of age. Shall not affilate with, own, control, and/or be employed in any capacity, by an organization in an activity that would place her in direct or indirect contact with children under the age of 18. Shall not go to places nor loiter within 100 feet of an area where minors are known to frequent without the prior approval of the probation officer and treatment provider. Shall have no direct or indirect contact with any children under the age of 18, unless accompained and supervised by an adult, who has been approved in advance by the therapist and the supervising probation officer. Shall abstain from the use of alcohol and/or other intoxicants during the term of supervision. Shall not possess a firearm, destructive device, or any other dangeous weapon. |
