| Narrative: | On the above date and time, officers of the Brooksville Police Department responded to Wal-Mart in reference to a shoplifter. Upon arrival, loss prevention advised they observed Sheri Vanblarcom acting suspiciously in the store. They watched her on surveillance video exiting the store and going to a vehicle into the parking lot. She then came back into the store and selected items off of the shelf and put them in her purse. While doing this, she was being assisted by an unknown white male subject. The two then exited the store again, passing all points of sale without paying for the items. Vanblarcom was detained by loss prevention and the male subject fled on foot. Officers attempted to locate the subject but were unsuccessful. Vanblarcom admitted to the theft and retrieved the stolen items from the car. The items were valued at $393.00 and were all recovered by the store. Vanblarcom would only advise that her male accomplice was named Jacob and that he lived in Spring Hill. Vanblarcom was charged with grand theft (retail) and is being held at the Hernando County Jail on $2000.00 bond. This case is still pending reference positive identification of Vanblarcom’s accomplice. |
