| Comments: | Sex offenders have always lived in our communities; but it was not until passage of the community protection act of 1990 (which mandates sex offender registration) that law enforcement even knew where they were living. In many cases, law enforcement is not able to share that information with you. Citizen abuse of this information to threaten, intimidate or harass registered sex offenders will not be tolerated. Further, such abuse could potentially end law enforcement's ability to do community notifications. We believe the only person who wins if community notification ends is the sex offender, since sex offenders drive their power through secrecy. According to official documents Anderson plead guilty in King County Superior Court on 11/06/1998 to one count of Child Molestation in the Third Degree and was sentenced to 16 months in prison. This conviction was the result of Anderson sexually assaulting the unknown 13 year old female victim. Anderson was allowed to stay the night at the victim?s home and had just met the victim on the date of the offense. He also knew her age. During the night Anderson forced his way into the victim's room by defeating the lock. Once inside he began talking sexually to her progressing to the sexual assault. Anderson refused to participate in the sex offender treatment program while in prison. Anderson is currently being released from prison after serving 40 months for a non-sex offense, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Possession of a Controlled Substance Methamphetamine.
