Probable cause affidavit: SUBMITTED BY: CASADA, STEVEN 0460 (AR11119503) DID UNLAWFULLY AND KNOWINGLY HAVE IN HIS ACTUAL OR CONSTRUCTIVE POSSESSION A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, TO WIT: CANNABIS, COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS MARIJUANA, IN AN AMOUNT OF 20 GRAMS OR LESS, IN VIOLATION OF FLORIDA STATE STATUTE 893.13(6)(B). ON 022411 WHILE PERFORMING MY DUTIES AS SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICER AT CRYSTAL RIVER HIGH SCHOOL, I WAS CONTACTED BY THE ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL, MR CHARLES BROOKS, WHO HAD RECEIVED INFORMATION THAT A STUDENT WAS IN POSSESSION OF A GREEN LEAFY SUBSTANCE ON CAMPUS. MR BROOKS HAD ESCORTED THE DEFENDANT, MR TIMOTHY DORSETT, TO MY OFFICE. MR BROOKS THEN SEARCHED THE DEFENDANT'S BELONGINGS AND LOCATED THE GREEN LEAFY SUBSTANCE IN THE IN THE CAP OF THE DEFENDANT'S DEODORANT. THE DEFENDANT WAS READ HIS MIRANDA RIGHTS VIA PRE-PRINTED CARD, AT WHICH TIME HE ADVISED HE WOULD SPEAK TO ME IN REFERENCE TO THIS CASE. THE DEFENDANT ADMITTED THAT THE GREEN LEAFY SUBSTANCE WAS I N FACT MARIJUANA AND HE HAD PURCHASED THE MARIJUANA FROM ANOTHER STUDENT FOR THE AMOUNT OF $5.00. I THEN TOOK POSSESSION OF THE MARIJUANA FOR SAFE KEEPING. THE DEFENDANT ADVISED FURTHER THAT HE HAD MADE ARRANGEMENTS ON THE NIGHT OF 022311 TO PURCHASE THE MARIJUANA AT SCHOOL ON 022411. ALTHOUGH THE DEFENDANT IS AN ADULT, I ATTEMPTED TO CONTACT HIS PARENT, WHICH MET WITH NEGATIVE RESULTS. THE DEFENDANT WAS HANDCUFFED (DOUBLE LOCKED) BEHIND HIS BACK AND WAS ADVISED HE WAS BEING ARRESTED FOR POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA. HE WAS THEN TRANSPORTED TO THE CITRUS COUNTY DETENTION FACILITY FOR BOOKING AND PROCESSING, WHERE HIS BOND WAS SET AT $500.00 PER THE BOND SCHEDULE. WHILE AT THE DETENTION FACILITY THE MARIJUANA WAS WEIGHED IN THE AMOUNT OF APPROXIMATELY 4 GRAMS. THE MARIJUANA WAS TURNED IN TO THE CITRUS COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE EVIDENCE DIVISION.
