SUBMITTED BY: SEFFERN, JONATHAN 0623 (AR15-16664) (15-129127) DID UNLAWFULLY AND KNOWINGLY TAKE, OBTAIN OR USE OR ENDEAVOR TO TAKE, OBTAIN OR USE THE PROPERTY OF WAL-MART, TO WIT: AUTOMOTIVE ITEMS, PET ITEMS AND HOUSEHOLD ITEMS, BY CARRYING AWAY THE SAID MERCHANDISE, WITH INTENT TO TEMPORARILY OR PERMANENTLY DEPRIVE, A MERCHANT, OF THE POSSESSION, USE, BENEFIT, OR FULL RETAIL VALUE OF SAID PROPERTY, SAID PROPERTY BEING OF A VALUE OF LESS THAN $300.00, IN VIOLATION OF FLORIDA STATE STATUTES 812.015, 812.014(1), AND 812.014(3)(A). ON 100115, WHILE ASSISTING LOSS PREVENTION OFFICERS AT THE HOMOSASSA WAL-MART, LOCATED AT 6885 SOUTH SUNCOAST BOULEVARD, I WAS NOTIFIED BY LOSS PREVENTION OFFICER ANTANIO KIASLER THAT HE HAD A MALE SUBJECT IN CUSTODY. LOSS PREVENTION OFFICER KIASLER STATED HE OBSERVED A MALE SUBJECT, LATER IDENTIFIED AS THE DEFENDANT, MR TIMOTHY PUTZBACH, SELECT MERCHANDISE FROM THE STORE FLOOR, REMOVE A WAL-MART BAG FROM THE POCKET OF HIS SHORTS AND BEGAN CONCEALING THE ITEMS HE SELECTED IN THE WAL-MART BAG. HE STATED THAT AFTER THE DEFENDANT CONCEALED THE ITEMS INSIDE OF THE WAL-MART BAG, HE OBSERVED THE DEFENDANT EXIT THROUGH THE GARDEN CENTER EXIT PASSING ALL POINTS OF SALE FAILING TO MAKE ANY ATTEMPT TO PAY FOR THE MERCHANDISE. HE STATED THAT UPON THE DEFENDANT PASSING THE REGISTER AND EXITING OUT OF THE GARDEN CENTER DOORS INTO THE PARKING LOT, HE MADE CONTACT WITH THE DEFENDANT AND IDENTIFIED HIMSELF AND THEN ESCORTED THE DEFENDANT BACK TO THE LOSS PREVENTION OFFICE. I THEN MADE CONTACT WITH THE DEFENDANT AND IDENTIFIED MYSELF AS DEPUTY SEFFERN WITH THE CITRUS COUNTY SHERIFFS OFFICE. I OBSERVED THE ITEMS SELECTED BY THE DEFENDANT TO BE A BAG OF KITTY LITTER, SIX CANS OF WET CAT FOOD, A WATER BOWL, A CAT TOY, TWO VEHICLE HEADLIGHT BULBS AND TWO PACKAGES OF RED RESIDENTIAL WINDOW CURTAINS. THE TOTAL VALUE OF THE MERCHANDISE IS $52.60. THE DEFENDANT SPONTANEOUSLY STATED THAT HE HAD BEEN GIVEN A LIST OF ITEMS TO STEAL BY A SUBJECT KNOWN TO HIM AS MS DANA MONTGOMERY. HE STATED THAT HE OWED HER A FAVOR FOR MONEY AND HE WAS SORRY FOR STEALING THE MERCHANDISE. I RECEIVED A SWORN WRITTEN STATEMENT COMPLETED BY LOSS PREVENTION OFFICER KIASLER, WHICH WAS LATER SUBMITTED INTO RECORDS, ALONG WITH A WAL-MART RECEIPT. PHOTOGRAPHS OFF ALL MERCHANDISE STOLEN WERE TAKEN AND LATER SUBMITTED INTO EVIDENCE. THE DEFENDANT WAS THEN PLACED UNDER ARREST AND TRANSPORTED TO THE CITRUS COUNTY DETENTION FACILITY FOR BOOKING AND PROCESSING. THE DEFENDANT WAS CHARGED WITH ONE COUNT OF RETAIL PETIT THEFT, WITH A BOND AMOUNT OF $500.00 PER THE BOND SCHEDULE. |
