SUBMITTED BY: FERGUSON, R ADAM 0505 (AR11119405) UNLAWFULLY PROVIDE A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER WITH A FALSE NAME, OR OTHERWISE FALSELY IDENTIFY HIMSELF OR HERSELF IN ANY WAY, TO WIT: GAVE A FALSE NAME AND DATE OF BIRTH, IN VIOLATION OF FLORIDA STATE STATUTE 843.03 ON 021711 WHILE CONDUCTING ROUTINE PATROL IN THE CITY OF CRYSTAL RIVER, I OBSERVED A DODGE MINI-VAN BEARING FLORIDA TAG Z4DIW TRAVELING SOUTH ON HIGHWAY 19. UPON RUNNING THE TAG THROUGH NCIC/FCIC, IT SHOWED THAT THE REGISTERED OWNER OF THE VEHICLE HAD A SUSPENDED DRIVER'S LICENSE. I OBSERVED THE VEHICLE PULL INTO A PARKING SPACE IN THE TACO BELL PARKING LOT. I PULLED MY PATROL VEHICLE IN TO A PARKING SPACE ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE TACO BELL PARKING LOT. I WALKED UP TO THE DRIVER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE, IDENTIFIED MYSELF, AND ASKED THE DRIVER IF SHE WOULD TALK TO ME, TO WHICH SHE STATED SHE WOULD. THE DRIVER ALSO PROVIDED ME WITH HER DRIVER'S LICENSE. THE FRONT SEAT PASSENGER PROVIDED AN IDENTIFICATION CARD AND THE BACK SEAT PASSENGER, LATER IDENTIFIED AS THE DEFENDANT, MS TINA WILDS, PROVIDED ME WITH A FAKE NAME AND DATE OF BIRTH. I ASKED THE DRIVER OF THE VEHICLE, MS LISA WHEELER, IF THERE WAS ANYTHING ILLEGAL IN THE VEHICLE, SUCH AS GUNS, KNIVES OR NARCOTICS, TO WHICH SHE ADVISED THERE WAS NOTING ILLEGAL IN THE VEHICLE AND GRANTED ME CONSENT TO SEARCH. UPON SEARCHING THE REAR PAssenger compartment, i located a natural ice alcoholic beverage, half full and cold to the touch. i asked the defendant if IT belonged to her, TO which she initially denied OWNERSHIP, however, after ms wheeler stated the beer did belong to the defendant, the defendant acknowledged that the beer did belong to her. i again asked the defendant for her name and date of birth, to which she again gave me the fake name and date of birth. i advisEd the defendant that i believed she was lying to me, to which she finally admitted she had provided me with a fake name because she thought she had an active warrant for her arrest. AT THAT TIME, the defendant was placed under arrest, handcuffed (double locked) behind her back , secured in the rear seat of my patrol vehicle and transported to the citrus county detention facility FOR FURTHER PROCESSING. upon arrival, The DEFENDANT was charged with one count of obstruction by disguiseD PERSON, with bond set at $500.00, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE BOND SCHEDULE.
