| Comments: | Sex offenders have always lived in our communities; but it was not until passage of the community protection act of 1990 (which mandates sex offender registration) that law enforcement even knew where they were living. In many cases, law enforcement is not able to share that information with you. Citizen abuse of this information to threaten, intimidate or harass registered sex offenders will not be tolerated. Further, such abuse could potentially end law enforcement's ability to do community notifications. We believe the only person who wins if community notification ends is the sex offender, since sex offenders drive their power through secrecy. According to official documents Reiner pled guilty in Snohomish County Superior Court on 11/06/1995 to one count of Rape Third Degree, Unlawful Possession of a Short Barreled Shotgun, Burglary First Degree, and Assault Second Degree. He was sentenced to an exceptional sentence of 96 months in prison. These convictions were the result of Reiner physically and sexually assaulting the known adult female victim. Reiner called the victim and asked to come over to her residence. She declined and went to bed. Later there was a knock at the door and the victim answered the door. When she found it was Reiner she told him to leave. Reiner then pushed his way through the door. Once inside Reiner forced the victim to her bed. Once there he physically and sexually assaulted her for several hours. During the assaults he also threatened to shoot the vicitm with a shotgun that he had in his car. Reiner was taken into custody at the victim's residence after he had passed out. A search of his vehicle produced the shotgun he had threatened the victim with. Reiner completed the sex offender treatment program while in prison. He is not on active supervision at this time and his only requirement is to register as a sex offender. " Probation Conditions |
