Personal Details

Date of birth: Sep 16, 1983
Probable cause affidavit: SUBMITTED By: CASOLA, JOSEPH 0314 (AR11121787) DID KNOWINGLY GIVE FALSE INFORMATION TO A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER WHO WAS THEN AND THERE ATTEMPTING TO OBTAIN INFORMATION CONCERNING THE ALLEGED COMMISSION OF ANY CRIME, IN VIOLATION OF FLORIDA STATE STATUTE 837.05(1); AND DID knowingly make a false statement in writing with the intent to mislead a public servant in the performance of his or her official duty, IN VIOLATION OF FLORIDA STATE STATUTE 837.06. ON 071711 AT APPROXIMATELY 0500 HOURS, I MADE CONTACT VIA TELEPHONE with DEPUTY ANDRA CANFIELD WHO STATED ON THE EVENING OF 071611, SHE RECEIVED A TELEPHONE CALL FROM THE DEFENDANT, MR WILLIAM DANIEL BOCOOK. UPON MAKING CONTACT WITH HIM, DEPUTY CANFIELD ADVISED THAT HE TOLD HER AND PROVIDED A WRITTEN STATEMENT ADVISING THAT THE CRIME THAT HE HAD REPORTED EARLIER IN THE DAY OF ARMED ROBBERY, FALSE IMPRISONMENT, AND GRAND THEFT WAS A MADE UP STORY. DEPUTY CANFIELD ADVISED ME THAT THE DEFENDANT TOLD HER THAT HE HAD SPENT THE WHOLE NIGHT IN THE BEVERLY HILLS AREA ONLY LEAVING ONCE TO DRIVE TO THE WAL-MART IN INVERNESS TO RETRIEVE MONEY FROM THE ATM. HE STATED THAT HE SPENT THE WHOLE NIGHT WITH A FRIEND, WHO HE WISHED NOT TO INVOLVE AND STATED THAT HE SMOKED CRACK ALL NIGHT AND THAT THE MONEY AND DEBIT CARD THAT HE ORIGINALLY REPORTED AS STOLEN WAS ACTUALLY GIVEN TO AN UNKNOWN SUBJECT TO PURCHASE MORE CRACK. AT APPROXIMATELY 0815 HOURS, I WENT TO 37 REGINA BOULEVARD AFTER RECEIVING A DISPATCHED CALL FROM THE DEFENDANT. I MADE CONTACT WITH THE DEFENDANT ON THE FRONT PORCH OF HIS RESIDENCE. THE DEFENDANT STATED THAT HE WISHED TO RECANT THE ENTIRE STORY THAT HE PROVIDED ME ON THE PREVIOUS MORNING. THE DEFENDANT WAS READ MIRANDA VIA CARD. HE STATED THAT HE UNDERSTOOD HIS RIGHTS AND ALSO COULD READ AND WRITE THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE. THE DEFENDANT THEN ADMITTED TO GIVING ME A FALSE WRITTEN STATEMENT AS WELL AS FALSELY REPORTING THE ALLEGED CRIMES OF ARMED ROBBERY, GRAND THEFT, AND FALSE IMPRISONMENT. HE STATED TO ME THAT HE DID NOT GO TO INVERNESS, HE DID NOT STAY AT ANYONE'S RESIDENCE, HE WAS NOT HELD AT GUNPOINT, AND HE WAS NOT ROBBED. HE STATED THAT HE WAS AFRAID TO TELL HIS FIANCÉE THE TRUTH AND MADE UP THE WHOLE STORY. THE DEFENDANT STATED THAT THE TRUE STORY WAS THAT HE WENT OVER TO A friend'S RESIDENCE IN THE BEVERLY HILLS AREA AND SMOKED CRACK WITH HIM AND THAT HE DEPLETED HIS BANK ACCOUNT, WHICH HE SHARED WITH HIS FIANCÉE. HE LOST HIS TELEPHONE AND THAT IT WAS NEVER STOLEN AND WAS AFRAID TO ADMIT THIS TO HIS FIANCÉE. THE DEFENDANT STATED THAT ONLY ONE TIME DID HE LEAVE THE BEVERLY HILLS AREA AND THAT WAS TO GO TO THE WAL-MART INVERNESS TO WITHDRAW MORE MONEY. THE DEFENDANT STATED THAT HE WAS SORRY FOR WASTING THE TIME OF ALL PARTIES INVOLVED AND THAT HE WAS AFRAID OF THE CONSEQUENCES OF HIS ACTIONS AND WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN WITH HIS FIANCÉE. THIS ALLEGED CRIME CONSUMED THE TIME OF DEPUTY BAIRD, SERGEANT FISCHER, AND DEPUTY VENTIMIGLIA. IT CAUSE MAJOR CRIMES DETECTIVE GALLANT TO BE CONTACTED AND ALSO BECAUSE OF THE ALLEGED CRIMES REQUIRED ID TECHNICIAN ALEXANDER TO RESPOND TO THE SCENE TO PHOTOGRAPH AND PROCESS THE VEHICLE THAT THE VICTIM ALLEGED WAS STOLEN and RETURNED. THE DEFENDANT'S FALSE STATEMENT CONSUMED APPROXIMATELY THREE TO FOUR HOURS OF AGENCY TIME. AFTER THE DEFENDANT COMPLETED HIS VERBAL STATEMENT TO ME HE WAS PLACED UNDER ARREST AND HANDCUFFED (DOUBLE LOCKED). PRIOR TO HIS HANDCUFFING HE WAS ALLOWED TO TAKE HIS PRESCRIBED MEDICATION AND LEAVE ALL HIS BELONGINGS WITH HIS FIANCÉE. THE DEFENDANT WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE COUNTY DETENTION FACILITY WHERE HIS BOND WAS SET AT $750.0 PER THE BOND SCHEDULE. "If you are a person with a disability who needs any accommodation in order to participate in this proceeding, you are entitled, at no cost to you, to the provision of certain assistance.
