| Comments: | In 1985 Kevin Ambers was convicted of Rape 2nd Degree. Ambers (age 25) sexually assaulted a female (age 17) he had just met. During the assault, Ambers struck the victim several times and threatened to kill her if she wasn't quiet. In 1988 Ambers (age 27) was charged and convicted for two separate offenses on the same day. Ambers was convicted of Rape 1st & 2nd Degree and Robbery 1st & 2nd Degree. The first incident occurred in March 1987. Ambers entered the college office of an unknown female. Ambers robbed and sexually assaulted the victim at knifepoint. The second incident occurred in April 1987 at 4:30am. Ambers approached an unknown female (age 21) as she was walking to work. Ambers grabbed the victim from behind and dragged her into a nearby stairwell. Ambers told the victim he had a gun. Ambers robbed the victim. Ambers then physically and sexually assaulted the victim. Ambers was terminated from the Sex Offender Treatment Program while incarcerated in prison. In 1996, Ambers was admitted to the Special Commitment Center and was found to meet the criteria of a sexually violent predator. Ambers participated in treatment while at the Special Commitment Center. Ambers will be released on a Less Restrictive Alternative His transition will be monitored by a Transition Team consisting of a representative of the SCC, a Community Corrections Officer, and a community Sex Offender Treatment.
