| Comments: | In 2003 Child Protective Services reported to law enforcement they received information that Matthew SHOOP (then a 17 year old Registered Sex Offender), was having sexual contact with a 13 year old female. The girl's mother reported the sexual contact to CPS. SHOOP met the victim at the Tacoma Mall and SHOOP was introduced as being 15 years old. When the girl's mother found out SHOOP was actually 17 years old, she informed her daughter and SHOOP due to the age difference, she would not allow her daughter to continue seeing SHOOP. The daughter ran way from home and SHOOP admitted having sexual intercourse with the girl while she was a runaway. SHOOP was originally charged with Rape of a Child 2nd Degree but was later found guilty of Assault 2nd Degree with Sexual Motivation. In 1999 SHOOP (then 12 years old), sexually assaulted a 7 year old male. The sexual assault took place the first day SHOOP was at a foster home. The foster parent saw the victim pulling up his pants in a room with SHOOP. The foster parent talked with the boy who said SHOOP attempted intercourse with him. The boy was taken to the hospital and examined. The examination found evidence that confirmed a sexual assault had occurred. SHOOP was found guilty of Rape 3rd Degree and sentenced to 25 days of detention. SHOOP was given a polygraph and it was noted SHOOP was deceptive. SHOOP did admit to having sexually assaulted his 5 year old sister when he was 9 years old. SHOOP also disclosed at age 17 he sexually assaulted a 14 year old female and a 15 year old female. SHOOP completed the institutional phase of Sex Offender Treatment. Treatment file notes SHOOP can be manipulative, disruptive, and immature. SHOOP will be under community supervision by the Washington State Department of Corrections. SHOOP's criminal history includes convictions for Residential Burglary, Possession of Stolen Property, Assault 4th Degree (2 counts), Reckless Burning 2nd Degree, Criminal Trespass 1st Degree, and Unlawful Harboring of a Minor (related to the Assault 2nd Degree with Sexual Motivation conviction).
